<h3>GENERAL INFORMATION</h3>
<p>Orolwo community is located in the north Pokot District in a semi-arid region. The only active river is the Suam, located approximately 15 kilometers (9 miles) away from the community. Women carry the burden of many responsibilities in the community ranging from child bearing, cooking, collecting firewood, fetching water for the animals, and taking care of the household. The men mostly stay in the bush looking after cattle, sheep and goats. The men in the community also serve as security outside during the night. The borehole serves 1,500 community residents, 5,000 goats, 2,000 cows, several camels and sheep.</p>
